Adverts on repeat run digital tapes,

Targeted advertising, listen and suggest,

This, the poison we ingest!

Latest model, newest chip,

New set of wheels, shiny new whip,

Current fashion, latest brand,

Newest craze that sweeps the land,

Got the money; have you got the clout?

Scans human barcodes at checkout,

Brightest TV’s run latest news,

Mindless watchers, zombies, confuse…

Latest symbol draped only in skin,

Come hither eyes and ‘fuck me!’ grin,

Current diversion, on a ‘need to know’,

The news keeps coming with gusto…

Computer screens, Mac Pro dreams,

Hushed up secrets of foreign screams,

Shushed up torture in unknown lands,

Distracted here by one hit bands,

Occupied here by video virals,

And government lies as it spirals,

Government fibs that have no candour,

News relents for a scared bystander,

Sales upon sales for wallets packed,

Media produced to only detract,

What I should be, how I should be seen,

It over runs my brain!

Takes its toll with depth and pain,

What I can do, or must not do,
