I’m joyous to announce that the ‘THE BUSBY & ME’ documentary is complete! What a wild year! When I started this journey, I was a seventeen-year-old boy, operating in an adult world, trying to make a small paranormal feature-length. Then, nearly twenty years later, when the Busby Stoop Inn became defunct, I found myself writing a book, attempting to recall an investigation I’d done, only surviving off a degraded DVD-R disc; in an attempt to secure the legacy.
Nothing had me prepared for the fact that a few months later, I’d find the 8mm Tapes down South in a loft, tapes that I’d assumed had been recorded over years ago. Fast forward to October, and now before me is a complete documentary telling the story and restoring my footage from when I was a boy; footage I never thought would end up being seen!
I’m super overwhelmed and still perplexed about how this has all happened! I can’t overstate how you never imagine something you did so long ago, as a child, will ever have any importance whatsoever. I adored the Busby then, and I adore it’s legacy now; I will do all I can to protect this important slice of North Yorkshire lore.
The new film follows my journey back to Thirsk, to pick apart the legacy, the fact from fiction, the weird and the unexplained. Alongside this new exploratory film, we have restored original footage into 4K, film I never thought would ever be seen or look at all watchable! This includes a most incredible piece of possible Paranormal Phenomena.
I’d like to thank the team around me, Thomas Lee my associate producer most importantly, as well as others who have taken on roles around the film and publicity including Jason, Luke and Miki.
Please take a little jolly to Thirsk in February to join us for the screening (Tickets above).
