ANNOUNCEMENT (NOVEMBER 2025) – We are honoured to announce ‘THE BUSBY & ME’ has won ‘Best Paranormal Film’ at the prestigious Fortean Times Film Festival.
THE BUSBY & ME started as a limited edition book released in Spring 2024. Six months later, the original 8mm tapes (missing for nearly two decades) were discovered down South in an attic. This led Wade to create a new documentary about the history and previous investigation.
THE BUSBY & ME premiered at the Ritz Cinema, Thirsk on February 2nd, 2025, to a SOLD OUT audience, and it has been officially selected for a string of film festivals, as well as winning ‘Best Paranormal Film’ at the prestigious FORTEAN Times film festival, and an award in Northern Ireland.

Hello,
Thank you for coming directly to my ‘Busby’ archive page. IN SPRING 2024, I released a book, ‘Busby & Me’, about a ‘lost documentary’ I made nearly two decades ago in Thirsk and the subsequent finding of some of the original rushes and material.
In April 2024, after moving up North, I felt a strange pull back to ‘The Busby Stoop Inn’ – I felt compelled to walk back into the past! Separate from my ‘attempted show’ online, I had tried to make a 100-minute feature-length paranormal documentary – and for the first time in 2008, I’d enlisted the support of a clairvoyant! Sixteen years later, I arrived outside a legendary Inn that seemed to have no signs of its once-infamous past! Saddened, dejected, and a little annoyed, I went on a mission to try and restore some very bad quality footage, to be able to construct a written narrative of our documentary ‘that you’ve never heard of‘, but in doing so, I opened a long-suppressed journal of my time as a teenage ghost buster!
It had been my aim to cover the lore of ‘the Busby’, the investigation as a whole, and the shocking claims we’d made at the time in an attempt to support ‘The Busby Stoop Inns’ legacy for a new generation. But, it became so much more – It became my story of an ambitious yet fragile teenager, who so believed in what he was doing, and tried so hard to make something of himself utilising the early forms of social media!
The journey will continue; the book is my introduction as I attempt to find other missing documents from my time in Thirsk and potentially be able to restore some footage; you will start to see links being added to this section of my blog – so, I encourage you to stop by from time to time! – Wade
